As individuals, we’re stronger together. When we are united, we have the power to influence and advocate for change.

Introduction

While the world has been united in its battles against a global pandemic, we’ve also never been more divided. Issues of inequality driven by poverty, race, gender, climate crisis and many more have been catapulted to the fore, showing how volatile the world can be and raising questions of how society can come together and make change.

As individuals, we’re stronger together. When we are united, we have the power to influence and advocate for change.

Psychology can be the driving force to unite and harness the power of community on a global scale.

Using psychology, we can address the issues that have been magnified across the world. As one, we can build a fairer and more sustainable world.

We will bring together the leading experts in psychology from across Europe to discuss, debate and celebrate the impact of psychology on our communities and society, and we’d love to see you there.

Welcome to ECP 2023

We’re extremely excited

All of us at the British Psychological Society can’t wait to welcome our friends and colleagues from across Europe to the beautiful seaside city of Brighton for the 18th European Congress of Psychology in 2023.

We’re extremely excited to be hosting this event, and for the opportunity to get together in the UK after such a long period of disruption and disappointment, with big events like this so often cancelled or postponed.

The European Congress provides an opportunity for us to learn from each other, and to bring together the research, knowledge and innovation that is unique to each country on our continent.

Psychology is a truly global science which has the power to unite communities around solutions to the biggest problems facing us right now. As one, we can build a fairer and more sustainable society, but we can only do it through sharing our expertise.

We’ll have lots more news and announcements coming up between now and July 2023, so keep an eye out – we hope to see you by the shore for four exciting days of sun, sea, sand and psychology.

It’s nearly time for the ECP to make itself at home in Brighton.
